Our Contract

 

Dear Residents of Illinois,

 

As an Independent for U.S. Senate, I promise to:

  • Protect and defend The Constitution of the United States
  • Restore trust in the our state and federal offices, beginning with the U.S. Senate
  • Protect life and strengthen the family 
  • Work to create “real” jobs for Americans as proposed in my “Put America Back To Work” Act
  • Promote equality of pay
  • Support healthcare reform based on market based solutions not increased government control
  • Ensure that no child is truly left behind in our state because of underfunding or poor learning conditions
  • Partner with educators to ensure that students are properly trained for job acquisition
  • Improve student engagement in learning as outlined in my “Operation Student Success” Initiative 
  • Fight to ensure that cost of living increases do not continue to push education out of reach
  • Protect funding like MAP, Perkins Loans and PELL grants
  • Work to balance the federal budget, reduce the national debt and the deficit
  • Vote to temporarily freeze discretionary funding when necessary to balance the budget
  • Push for a bipartisan effort to establish responsible budgets which meet and exceed fiscal goals
  • Support a fairer tax system which broadens the tax base without disproportionate taxation
  • Facilitate economic expansion through tax-rate reduction
  • Oppose wasteful spending and any earmarks or special appropriations in exchange for votes
  • Join current efforts to end dependence on foreign oil, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create green jobs
  • Strengthen trade law enforcement, ending trade with nations engaging in unethical work and trade practices
  • Improve border and homeland security without an erection of more walls but more troops on the borders
  • Vote for judges who protect and defend The Constitution of the United States
  • Oppose bailouts for failing companies
  • Ensure that the U.S. does not engage in wars without first “counting the cost” to every American citizen
  • Support bipartisan and non-biased committees which help us avoid attacks on U.S. soil
  • Ensure that all citizens are able to partake in the “Blessings of Liberty”
  • Uphold the Second Amendment, not infringing upon the rights of citizens to bear arms
  • Work with Senator on “both sides of the isle”, never compromising or obstructing progress for personal gain
  • Regularly meet with constituents in all parties represented in the Senate (Established and Third Parties)
  • Carefully read every bill before casting any voting on it
  • Remember that I was elected by people of Illinois to “be their voice” in the United States Senate
